The Half Day Rock Climbing Adventure in Sussex gives you the chance to try outdoor climbing in one of the UK’s most scenic spots. Set at Harrison’s Rocks, just a short drive from both London and Brighton, it’s an accessible and rewarding way to get started.

You’ll begin by learning the basics: how to tie in, how to belay and how to move safely on rock. With expert instructors by your side, you’ll climb real routes tailored to your ability and comfort level. The goal isn’t to scale the hardest wall but to build confidence, have fun and enjoy the setting.

Harrison’s Rocks is home to 588 routes on soft sandstone crags, offering plenty of variety in a relaxed and welcoming environment. The area is part of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and often features passing steam trains from the nearby Bluebell Railway.

Whether you’re climbing or taking a break between ascents, the views are stunning.

Minimum age for this experience is 18 years old. Maximum weight for roped activities is 16 stone.

Max weight: 18 stone (115kg)

Suitable attire must be used to participate - this includes waterproofs, clothing and footwear: no boots or wellies. Consent form required for all participants. Bring as much food and water as required.

The Weather

If it is raining don’t worry your instructor will leave the ropes and lead you on an adventure to explore the rocks, caves, boulders and squeezes, a challenge that is guaranteed not to leave you disappointed. In adverse weather conditions (storms) the experience may be rescheduled.

Session Length

Your outdoor rock climbing session will last for 4 hours.

Spectators

Under 18s require a responsible adult to attend. Other spectators are not permitted.

What To Wear

Suitable attire must be used to participate – this includes waterproofs, clothing and footwear; no boots or wellies

Availability

This experience operates at weekends. Pre booking is required. We recommend you book at least 4 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment.
